  15. lyricist; of lung cancer; in New York City. A native of
  16. Brooklyn, Pomus teamed with composer Mort Shuman to pen his
  17. first major hit, A Teenager in Love, in 1959. The two also
  18. wrote such classics as Save the Last Dance for Me and This
  19. Magic Moment for the Drifters. Their magic continued with Elvis
  20. Presley's Little Sister and Surrender.
